Sheriff “AJ” Tony Smith has announced that he will run for re-election

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Franklin County Sheriff “AJ” Tony Smith has announced that he will be running for a second term in the upcoming 2020 election.

Sheriff Smith is a Franklin County native who has held numerous leadership positions in both local as well as state organizations.

Smith took over the office for a four year term in 2017 after the retirement of former Sheriff Mike Mock.

We have accomplished a lot during this first term and have more to do for the citizens of Franklin County. I look forward to continuing our success toward making our county one of the best and safest places to live in Florida,” Sheriff AJ Tony Smith.

Smith also holds a newly elected position as President of the Florida Deputy Sheriff’s Association.
